Asian Theology and the Particularity of Christianity
As a minority religion, Christianity in Asia has a long tradition of reflecting on its distinctiveness or particularity among other religions traditions. It may thus offer insights for a more productive of constructive understanding of the uniqueness of Christianity in dialogue with other religious traditions. While the traditional theological understanding of Christian uniqueness is based on a priori theological assumptions, this paper explores various ways in which the particularity of Christianity may be conceived in relational and a posteriori terms, drawing from the thinking and experience of Indian Christian theologians.
