Pendidikan demokrasi sosial : Suatu jawab untuk Indonesia?

Indonesians have been learning to be democratic for some decades. They still have a long way to go. There are people, who think that democracy is identical with freedom to speak up as much as possible. We need a so-called democracy that is also truly social, without becoming socialism like the late Soviet Union. But it does not mean that the best democracy is the so-called liberal democracy. We have to learn to build a ‘social democracy’, Educational institutions should help the nation to learn tospeak andto act in a democratic way. Universities should help to educate future leaders who are democratic as well as social. It is a way to make ‘humaniora’ the real spirit of a university.
