ANALISIS KINERJA RITEL INDONESIA DAN USULAN STRATEGI PEMASARAN DALAM MENGHADAPI PERSAINGAN DENGAN RITEL ASING
Free trade era creates a very close competition in the whole economic sectors. The most inportmt activity in the business sectom is distribution activitiy which includes wholesalers and retailers. With on eaq carry to Indonesia’s market this time, local retailers is nowfacing a very tight competition, especially price competition with foreign retailer-s. In this research the performance of 2 Indonesian retailers (Hero and Matahari) is compared with the performance of 3 foreign r e t a i l e r s (Cmtinent, Carrefour, and Makro. The pelformance measurement is based on some criteria of retailer’s performance, such as: mwagement and organization, market coverage, marketing strategy, firmncial structure and sales. The results indicate some weaknesses, especially in the financial sector and efficiency in the logistic and distribution activity in local retailers. It is suggested that Indonesian retailers apply some marketing strategies and progranmes that combine their strengths and weaknesses, with opportunities and threats faced by them.
