Flattening the Curve

The logistic differential equations provides a plausible model for the spread of an infection; realistic features naturally emerge from it. In particular, reducing the constant of proportionality in the model has the beneficial effect of "flattering the curve," which both delays and reduces the peak rate of new infection.
