Rebuilding Christian Mission from the Perspective of 'Discriminated Differently Abled'
The disputes about the usage of the terminology between "disability" and "differently abled" caused in ecumenical church communities reflected different yet important concerns of the issue and its theological reflections, as well the nature and position of Christian mission. The concept of disability has to do with accessibility of participation. While social construction has not only construct the identity of a group of people but also construct an environment to prevent them to participate. The issue thus involves a critical matter of "power", an exclusive power that majority people exercised to preclude heterogeneous individuals. This dominant superior power of exclusion hence needs to be examined and dealt with theologically.
