Posthumanism in Popular Culture : Ongoing Challenges
The Increasing presence of posthumanism in contemporary culture can be traced in its multiple forms. After exsemplifying this pervasive character and some of its manifestations, a ew ethical concerns are highlighted by focusing on the posthuman moral agent, on the risk of escapism and on the unquestioned trust in technology and its promises. Further, the critical assessment focuses on possible beneficial posthumanism, as well as regrettable losses-notably human and social embodiment, which are central in the Christian experience shaped by the Incarnation.
