Women in Their Various Struggles : Spiritual Activism as 'Other' Knowledge
This essay is a reflection on the Roundtable on Women's Resistances at the Resist! conference. It argues for building coalitions and solidarities with women around the world, even as patriarchal violence, racism, sexism, classism and other forms of discrimination reflect contextual variances. While postcolonial feminisms argue for transnational feminist communities by dissolving geopolitical borders, South American feminists argue that the border is exactly where the most capacious imagination of life occurs. The difference between the two approaches, however, are less significant in light of their shared commitments to the wellbeing of women, children, the poor, and life on the planet.
