Photovoltaic Green Hydrogen Challenges and Opportunities : A Power Electronics Perspective

Hydrogen is expected to play an important role in the future global energy mix [3] . It is a very interesting way to store energy, and it is a zero-emission fuel burned with oxygen. In past years, hydrogen has received high attention around the world as illustrated in Figure 1(a) , where it can be seen that an increasing number of countries adopted, or are to adopt, general strategies for hydrogen production [1] . At present, a stable and well-defined policy framework is needed to better define rules and regulations for green hydrogen standards that can be agreed around the world [4] .
