Hubungan kerjasama perdagangan Indonesia - Inggris Raya dan pengaruhnya terhadap peningkatan ekspor komoditi non migas Indonesia ke Inggris Raya tahun 1983 - 1992

Interdependence in economy cooperation and trade relations between Indonesia and Great Britain is based on mutual benefits relations. Indonesia requires the Great Britain market to keep its foreign exchange revenue stability obtained from its export, which is use to maintain and increase its development growth. On the other hand, Great Britain requires Indonesia to increase its economy and trade cooperation between the two countries, and to keep the growth and development its industry.
Discussion about non gas oil export development is becoming more important nowadays after the unfavorable trends of the petroleum oil market. Petroleum cannot be expected to increase export revenue significantly. Therefore the intention to be less dependent on petroleum should be compensated by encouraging export of non oil commodities.
The Indonesian government has established a basic policy to increase non oil export commodities by issuing "Peraturan Pemerintah No. 1 Tahun 1982" covering export and import practice, along with foreign exchange traffic. This regulation was proposed to face a complex situation of the international market in the future.
The marketing of Indonesia non oil products to Great Britain improving since 1988. The largest percentage of the Indonesian income of exports to Great Britain is gained from manufactured goods. However, there are still many obstacles for Indonesian export to enter the Great Britain market.
To achieve more harmonious economy relations between Indonesia and Great Britain, we still hope that Great Britain will reduce the number of existing obstacles, both tariff and non tariff. On the other hand, Indonesia has to put more effort to promote and to expand its product market to Great Britain. By analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the two countries, a new trade policy can be developed in order that booth countries can achieve its own national goals.
