Nowadays industry develops rapidly. The development makes hard
competition on every sector. One of many sectors is automotive. This
development caused rate of productivity car and motorcycle increasing. One of the industries that also develop is oil industry. With increasing number of automotive in Indonesia, the usage of oil is increasing also. However with these development caused negative effect. One of the wastes that produce from this automotive sector is used oil. Poor handling of used oil from industrial user
makes pollution to environment. Pollution that generally happens because of used oil is water pollution. Water pollution can thread water ecosystem. As all known that oil was main support for the works of a machine. Besides that, oil also determines performance and durability of a machine. The better oil quality, the better performance and durability of a machine. However used oil has hazardous and poisonous additives and chemicals. Chemical
compounds that used oil has are Ethylene glycol, Tetraethyl lead, etc. With penetration chemical compounds into environment can cause fertility decrease, number of cancer disease on human beings increase, and agitated ecosystem. Because of that, consciousness for environmental conservation needed. To overwhelming these problems, applying inverse manufacturing to used oil can be done. Steps to do for applying inverse manufacturing is life cycle planning, reuse or recycling design, environment impact assesment dan cloosed
loop system. After that steps been arranged, then cycle for used oil are made. With applying inverse manufacturing, analysis and idea to handle used oil are expected can reduce or prevent environmental destruction.
