KAJIAN TERHADAP KEGIATAN DISTRIBUSI FISIK PRODUK CHICKEN NUGGET PADA PT.XYZ
We need some activities to convey the products and service from producer
to customer that can be fluent of the distribute those products. These activities is
called as the physical distribution activity. The physical distribution activity is
consits of order processing, inventory control, warehousing, material handling
and transportation. PT. XYZ is the distributor of food products that has three
refreshment stand in Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, and Sukabumi. They are facing some
cases that related with the late some delivering of products to those refreshment
stand.
The object of this research is to get some view and know about the
physical distribution problems that was happening in organization and give the
suggestion about The Distribution Requirement Planning (DRPs) application to
manage the chicken nugget stock. The study method in this case is using the case
study, research kind is analytical descriptive, data gather technicsis primary with
some observations and interviews and secondary data with document study, and
some applications data analytical that is qualitative and quantitative
The result, PT. XYZ is operating the order processing, material handling
and transportation with effective and efficient. The warehousing activity, they
have some problems about the VAM that small relative store capacity in every
their refreshment stand, so they cannot put those stock. The inventory control,
they always delayed about the products distribution, so come late in their
refreshment stand.
With using of The Distribution Requirement Planning (DRP) to manage
the inventory control, they could be anticipate the future needs and prevent the
late of products distribution to their stand. The suggestion of this DRP application
with the compare their total of supply cost method lot-sizing at for lot and part
period balancing, that the refreshment stand in Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, and
Sukabumi could using the lot sizing part period balancing methods.
Although can see from that total of supply cost method is smaller than the
part period balancing method, the part period balancing method is more
advantage to organization. The part period balancing method is more guarantee
about the better service to every refreshment stand and their retailer than
organization method. As the consecuences, the method ofpart period balancing
application, the organization have to add the VAM store capacity in every their
refreshment stand.
