Penerapan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku benang polyester pada PT. Situ Indah dengan menggunakan sistem EOQ

Every company will always try to maintain its life by keeping the smoothness
of the production process, if the activity of the production process is disturbed, it will
cause a certain loss to the company. The raw material inventory is very important
things that must he available in manufacturing company to make the production
process moves smoothly. The Quantity of safety stock should be owned by a
company, the economic order quantity and reorder point must be fixed. So they can
reduce the inventory cost which has been spent.
This research proposes to apply to keep the smoothness of the production
process in Situ Indah Ltd, with a minimum inventory cost.
In this research the present writer uses descriptive analytical research method,
with the expectation that it can be used by the company to overcome the raw material
problems. This research was done from January 1998 until December 1998.
It is known from the data collecting that the order of the raw materials at Situ
Indah Ltd is based on the total quantity order which is made previously and for sale,
therefore the safety stock for the raw materials are rather high.
Based on the calculation of the fixed order quantity system we can know that :
1. The economic order quantity for :
Polyester 75 's : 5.139 kg
Polyester 100's : 3.874 kg
Polyester 150 's : 1.432 kg
2. The reduction of inventory cost is :
Polyester 75 's : Rp11.374.507,00 or 67,02 %
Polyester 100 's : Rp 6.306.603,00 or 56,24 %
Polyester 150 's : Rp 3.625.496,00 or 60,57 %
This reduction means a cost efficiency, especially the efficiency of inventory cost
